Shannon, Doctor of Oriental Medicine, specializes in holistic skin care and women's health at her clinic, Beauty Through Balance, in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Her interest in Oriental Medicine began with a passion for helping women get to the root of their health issues. Every session begins with a full traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis, an intake of diet and lifestyle, and a list of supplements and current medications. While working with women on a medical level, Shannon found that many women had skin conditions that were directly related to their state of health, noting that "for many women, hormonal imbalances, diet and lifestyle choices, and digestive and stress issues are at the root of their medical condition as well as their skin issue."

Because of this realization, Shannon incorporated topical skin treatments into her medical practice.
